As I pack up my final things, I am reminded of all the people who have gotten me to this point. So I’d like to thank all those who have supported me emotionally or financially in my journey these past 3 years.
First I’d like to thank my amazing sponsors who got me here, and kept me looking and feeling my best at all my events. Thank you to Bronze Baxx Tanning Studio for providing me with a flawless spray tan every time, frilly lilly for making all my waxing comfortable and my nails absolutely gorgeous, Mezzanine Hair Studio for my incredible extensions and all the work your team has done on my hair, Makeup by Jamie-Lee for you talent of make up, making me look and feel beautiful, Jessica Nash (AKA The Lash Fairy) for the awesome lip stain/gloss and fiber mascara, The Store Upstairs, Airdrie Pharmasave for supplying my one of a kind wardrobe for Toronto, Oksana’s for the beautiful gowns for my photo shoot and gala night, Męłissą Hąmęrą for not only financially supporting me and helping me get my title, but also being a great friend to myself and my mom, Images by Joanne for shooting my official Miss Teenage Airdrie photos and supporting me on a personal level, Lyndsey Lou Hollands for previously wrapping me with her ItWorks! Wraps to tone and nourish my skin and also financially helping me get to Toronto, and to all my sponsors who helped contribute to my journey to Toronto including, Davis Chevrolet GMC Buick LTD, Airdrie, Edward Jones, Shilo from Remax Airdrie, McKee Homes, Airdrie Lions, Airdrie Family Eye Doctors, Vitreous Glass, Innovative Bed Systems, Sharon and Tom Brown, Kjarlune Rae and her students at Journey to Change, along with all the wonderful women apart of her Facebook group, to all the anonymous donations I received and lastly a very big thank you to the silent sponsor family who at the eleventh hour made my dream a reality by helping me reach my financial goal.
I would also like to thank my friends and family who have contributed and believed in me. I was told I would never change the way Airdrie looks at bullying, I was told I would never get better, I was told I would never be accepted in this world, yet here I am heading off to Toronto with this incredible support team behind me cheering me on from Airdrie. Thank you so much to my mumzie who has put so many hours into this pageant for me. She is truly the reason I am here today; not just here as in pageant wise, but life wise. My mum is the reason I got better. When the doctors, friends and almost felt like the world gave up on me, she fought for me to get better. I love you with all my heart mommy and can never thank you enough for all the work you do for me. I am so excited to have my great-grandpa come watch me as I walk the stage at Miss Teenage Canada. He has been my biggest fan since day one and my best friend. I always have such an incredible time with him and cannot wait to rock the city of Toronto with him afterwards!
I’m at a loss for words at this point as I can’t exclaim my excitement, fear and gratitude towards all of this. This pageant has done so much more than just make me a princess, it has opened a door to endless possibilities. I am happy, confident and have grown up so much since this began. This feeling of love for who I am felt like an unattainable goal, but now with all your love and support through this and the help of Miss Teenage Canada, I am well on the way to recovery for myself. For me this pageant is so much more than a crown, a title, its my life. It the beginning of a new start for me, a new life filled with positivity, successes and passion. Whether crowned Miss Teenage Canada or not, I have already won the most important part, beauty. Not superficial beauty, but the beauty of your soul, the beauty you finally find within yourself, the beauty you can share to others, the beauty to see things in a new light. This is what a “beauty” pageant is all about; the beauty you discover through the eyes of the people and culture you represent.
I love and thank you all so much for joining me on this journey.
